Educators in Cleveland County apparently appreciate and enjoy their careers with Cleveland County Schools (CCS).

In a recent contest held by the Shelby Star, CCS topped the charts for the second straight year retaining the title of Best Place to Work in Cleveland County.

“Although this is not an unfamiliar concept, it is nice for the community to hear what people think about working with the children of Cleveland County,” said Katie Barbee, CCS Principal of the Year.  “I, along with the 2018 Teacher of the Year, Heather Poston, humbly accepted the award on behalf of the educators in Cleveland County.”

According to numbers posted by the Shelby Star, 120,000 votes were cast to select the best organizations. The final round of voting included 72,000 votes to determine the winners.

“The spirit of collaboration fills our schools and Central Services each day as every sector of our organization is student-focused and mission-driven,” said Greg Shull, director of communications for Cleveland County Schools.
