Elementary and intermediate students were recognized at the county’s annual Carl DeBrew Heroes Program. Thanks to the help of John Laughlin and Laughlin Furniture Outlet, the Heroes were honored for successfully coping with learning disorders, physical handicaps, or other circumstances.

Each Hero received a medallion, individualized t-shirt, an honorarium certificate, a backpack filled with prizes, and was presented to an audience along with their inspiring stories.
